Bodybuilders should keep sugar intake at a minimum through out the day except for the post workout meal. Sugar should be kept to a minimum of 20 grams though out the whole day not counting your post workout meal.

If you are engaged in this sort of activity you should be aiming to consume around 60g of fast absorbing sugars per hour in your sports drinks. Bodybuilding or weight training workouts lasting less than an hour or so, which is about as long as most people usually train therefore shouldn’t require sugar ingestion.
