During my whole first year of building, I ate in a caloric surplus to the tune of 2600 calories a day. That meant that every day, I ate past my “full” signal.
There are many reasons why people quit bodybuilding. From experience i’ve had training with bodybuilders and training clients that are bodybuilders here are my three reasons. 1. It’s expensive. Like very expensive. If you don’t have the job to support it you won’t be able to keep up demands.
A good reason to quit anything, not just bodybuilding, is when you doing it for someone else. It's irrelevant if your source of motivation is pressure by your parents, social conditioning or your own ego. If you're motivated by something else than your inner truth, your inner voice so to speak, let it go.
